Regular seeds are 100% pure and not genetically modified, meaning they’re a mix of both male and female seeds. Unfortunately, male seeds don’t yield buds. Instead, they’re used in the production of hemp, which no, unfortunately, you can’t smoke, but they can be highly useful in the production of clothing and shoes.
Feminised seeds are genetically modified to ensure that the plant will eventually produce buds and rich cannabinoids known as Sensimilla. They’re easier to grow than regular seeds and more common for first-time growers because they eliminate the process of having to sex out plants to remove males.
For those only just popping their cannabis-growing virginity, auto-flowering seeds are probably the way to go. Plants usually start to flower from 4 to 5 weeks after germination. The growth process only requires a minimal amount of sunlight, minimising the several hours of allocated daylight and darkness hours with required with other seeds. Other than this, auto-flowering seeds are known for their resiliency, being capable of handling growth stages in the great outdoors, managing insect infestations and even mould.
